The training for industrial technicians is the modern-day equivalent to yesterday’s machinist course. Many machines nowadays are computer-controlled, so you need to learn programming as well as machining (milling and turning).

As an industrial technician, you must be technically savvy. That means you must be able to operate and program a range of different machines, such as CNC-controlled milling and turning machines.
Training covers the craftsman-related subjects such as turning, milling and welding, as well as more technology-related subjects such as programming for CNC machines and product development.
The training course for industrial technicians lasts four years, and students alternate between college and work placements. You can start at college or with a traineeship. To start as a trainee, you must have a training agreement with an employer such as RIVAL. Trainees are paid during their training period.
As an industrial technician trainee at RIVAL, you will rapidly become a crucial member of the team. We trust our trainees and give them responsibility.
As a trainee, you will quickly learn how to operate some of our exciting CNC machines. Once you have completed your training, you will be familiar with CNC machining, including both turning and milling. |
