The boys at RIVAL have built a self-propelled sofa – an invention that was so far out that Denmark’s Most Beautiful Festival invited Glenn Scharling to drive it around the woods with both stand-up comics Sos and Kirsten in 2002 and Tom Kristensen in 2003, when they had DKK 100,000 to spend on visitors.

A sofa bought at a flea market for EUR 30 combined with a steel frame, six wheels, the motor from a feed cart, the gearbox from an old Morris 1000 and a lot of energy all combined to create this great, self-propelled sofa. |
