RIVAL updates its technology

Following the acquisition of some of the most advanced machines in the world, RIVAL is ready to meet the ever-increasing demand for machining – including the machining of large workpieces.

Mazak are the DeWalt of heavy CNC-controlled machines – for those who are fans of the legendary yellow tools. The partnership was born in 2002, when RIVAL acquired its first Mazak machining centre. Since then, we have gradually acquired additional products from the world’s largest manufacturer of tools for the metal industry, most recently the large FH-10800, which is only found at a handful of Danish companies.

Alternative to going abroad
“RIVAL is an interesting customer because the company focuses so intently on high technology that enables them to compete with foreign suppliers. This means they are able to process very large pieces, which is an advantage in a market where large machine capacity is in short supply. The larger manufacturers do not have many places they can turn to in Denmark. The alternative is to look abroad, and it is this opportunity that RIVAL has managed to exploit," explains Kim Nielsen, Managing Director at Mazak.

Up-to-the-minute production equipment
“Mazak focuses primarily on service. It can prove costly for a company like RIVAL if a machine becomes inoperative – not only here and now in financial terms, but because customers may hold it against us if we fail to deliver on time,” says Henrik Holvad, Managing Director at RIVAL.

We have invested regularly in the latest, most effective CNC-controlled machines. We have accumulated specialist know-how in processing individual pieces with a very high degree of skill and precision. We know what every single component is worth to our customers, and how important it is for the finished result to be perfect, so we get it right the first time," says Henrik Holvad.
